Middletown, CT- Lasell fought a hard, determined battle against the Cardinals of Wesleyan University, ultimately coming up just short in the final seconds of the matchup.
Lasell battled through a cold start to take a 38–34 halftime lead, using offensive rebounds and Esmer Madesko's spark, scoring at the rim, hitting a three, and creating transition chances, to erase Wesleyan's early edge. Key threes from Cameron Foster-Martez and strong finishes from Quinton Partee Jr. and Andy Madesko helped Lasell seize momentum late in the half.
The Lasers opened the second half with threes from Andy Madesko and Tyler Costin and stretched the lead to 70–61 behind crisp ball movement and strong drives from Esmer and RJ Jones. But Wesleyan clawed back through timely shooting and steady free-throw production. Despite late threes from Che Hanks, multiple steals, and second-chance opportunities, Lasell couldn't hold off the Cardinals' final push, falling 82–79 after Wesleyan closed it out at the line.
Up Next: The Lasers will be back on their home court this coming Saturday, with a non-conference matchup against Gordon College.
