MBB: EJ Day Named GNAC Player of the Year; Partee Jr and Warren also Honored
Newton, MA - The GNAC announced their end of the year basketball awards, and three Lasell Lasers were honored.
Graduate Student guard EJ Day was named the conference's player of the year after his historic season. He was also named to the All-GNAC First Team. The Norwalk, CT native led the country in scoring with 25.8 ppg, and led the team in assists per game (6.1), as well as steals per game (2.6). Day shot 42.7% from the field, and 37.9% from three point range. He scored more than 25 points 14 times on the season, including twice going for over 40. Day also posted the top two single game assists totals in school history, dishing out 18 and 14 assists in back to back games. He finished his career with 1,610 points at Lasell, the third most in school history.
Freshman forward Quinton Partee Jr. was named to the GNAC All-Rookie team after being named GNAC Rookie of the Week four times on the season. The Roswell, GA native was second on the team with 11.8 ppg, and led the team with seven rebounds per game. He ended the season with four double-doubles.
Senior guard Demerrick Warren was named to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship team. The Deerfield Beach, FL native averaged 7.5 ppg, and shot 33.9% from three point range. He scored a career high 22 points this season against Eastern Nazarene, making six three pointers, one of three times he made six three in a game this year.
