Vincelette and Roy named to GNAC Basketball Sportsmanship Teams
Kayla Vincelette and Rob Roy were named to the GNAC Sportsmanship teams in women's and men's basketball

Newton, Mass. - Lasell College juniors, Kayla Vincelette (Westport, Mass.) and Rob Roy (Dover, N.H.) were named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference women's and men's basketball Sportsmanship teams for the 2012-13 season.
Roy was a junior co-captain of the men's basketball team, appearing in 24 games during the 2012-13 campaign, averaging 4.7 points per game in 13.7 minutes per game of action. The junior guard shot 33.3% from three point territory on the year, knocking down 24 shots from behind the arc.
His leadership was pivotal for a Lasell squad as they competed through a challenging season. Roy notched a career-high 19 points in a win over Mount Ida College on January 19th, and had a three game stretch to open the second semester where he averaged 13.3 points a game.
Vincelette started all 25 games for a young women's squad, that finished 10-15, a six win improvement from 2011-12. Kayla averaged a team-high 33.9 minutes per game, leading the team in blocked shots, assists and assist/turnover ratio on the year.
Her steady play throughout the season and willingness to sacrifice personal statistics to help the team was pivotal to her team's success. She scored a season-high 15 points in the Lasers 77-64 victory over cross-town rival Mount Ida, while also playing a key role in holding the Mustangs All-GNAC performer Evebonne Acosta to a 6-18 shooting performance from the field.
