Newton MA- The Lasell University field hockey team put on a clinic Saturday afternoon, dominating in every phase of the game en route to an 11-0 shutout over Elms College.
The Lasers wasted no time asserting control, scoring just 59 seconds into the match as Halleen Seguin found Brooklyn Northcutt for the opening goal. Lasell's offense continued to pour it on, with first-quarter goals from Kaylene Ellis, Mara Boldy (2), and Megan Crabtree building a commanding 5-0 lead.
The momentum carried into the second quarter, where Amelia McAfee, Seguin, and Northcutt each added to the tally, extending the lead to 8-0 by halftime.
Northcutt completed her hat trick in the third quarter, while Casey Davis added her name to the scoresheet to push the advantage to double digits. Crabtree capped the scoring with a late unassisted goal in the fourth, sealing the 11-0 victory.
Defensively, the Lasers were just as dominant. Lasell did not allow a single shot throughout the game, and goalkeeper McKenna Ecker secured the clean sheet without needing to make a save.
