Newton, MA- Lasell Women's Field Hockey fell to Thomas (ME) 2-1 in a closely contested match on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
Thomas came out strong early in the first period, with Samantha Thebarge scoring the game's first goal at the 10-minute mark, assisted by Maci Freeman. The visitors controlled the pace throughout much of the game, racking up 20 shots compared to Lasell's 8. Goalkeeper Eliya Drummond was solid for Thomas, making 5 saves on 13 shots.
In the third period, Kara Richards extended Thomas' lead with a goal assisted by Leah Knight. Lasell fought back in the fourth period, as Megan Crabtree found the back of the net off an assist from Brooklyn Northcutt with just under 9 minutes remaining. Despite a strong effort to equalize, the Lasers fell just short.
Lasell goalkeeper McKenna Ecker made 11 saves but was unable to keep the team ahead. The match featured intense defense and timely offensive plays from both squads, with Thomas ultimately taking the victory.
