FH: Lasers Fall to Seahawks 3-1
NEWPORT, RI. - The Lasers fell to the Salve Regina Seahawks in a tight matchup on Wednesday night.
Lasell took the lead early with a Mara Boldy goal in the first few minutes of the game, assisted by Alice Rourke.
After a quick offensive corner, the Lasers spent most of the rest of the quarter in their defensive end, with three defensive corners and three shots against the Lasers.
Lasell continued a mostly defensive second and third quarter, taking no shots on net and defending three more Seahawk corners.
The Seahawks came out with a quick goal at the start of the fourth by Shannon Kennedy, tying the game up 1-1. After continuing to attack Lasell's defensive end, they would net two more goals in the final quarter for a 3-1 victory over Lasell.
Salve outshot the Lasers 22-2, earning eight penalty corners to Lasell's three. Senior goalie Courtney Tello had 10 saves in net for the Lasers.
