Castleton Predicted to Top NAC Field Hockey
Castleton State College has been chosen to finish at the top of the 2008 conference field hockey standings in a vote by the league’s coaches. The Spartans have a full squad returning including five seniors who earned all-conference recognition last season.

Castleton State College has been chosen to finish at the top of the 2008 conference field hockey standings in a vote by the league's coaches. The Spartans have a full squad returning including five seniors who earned all-conference recognition last season. The Castleton attack will be led by Kayla Blank and Carolyn Griggs, both first-team all-conference selections a season ago.
The University of Maine at Farmington, two-time defending conference champion, received three first place votes and 41 points to place second in the poll. The Beavers return seven starters from a squad that finished 7-1 in regular season play a season ago. The Farmington defense will be led by first-team all-conference selections goalkeeper Kaeleigh Barker and defender Erika Lucas. Husson University, who received 39 points and one first place vote, returns nine starters including three all-conference first team selections forward Elisha Dorso, midfielder Krystal Doughty and the 2007 NAC Player of the Year Erica Dorso.

Becker, Elms, and Wheelock, who competed as full members in 2007, will compete in the newly formed New England Collegiate Conference beginning in 2008.
