Matt Sammarco will be entering his fourth season on the Lasell University baseball coaching staff in 2024-25. Serving as the Associate Head Coach and the Recruiting Coordinator. He last played for the Lasers back in 2015 and is excited to continue building the Lasell Baseball program with his old teammate and current head coach Billy Uberti.

After graduating, Sammarco coached in the Futures League under General Manager Bill Terlecky, and later coached in New York City at Trevor Day School. He spent three years with the Tri-City ValleyCats (Single A affiliate of the Houston Astros), starting within the clubhouse and later found a role in the front office. Sammarco later served as a Player Development Coordinator with Factory Athletics, assisting high school baseball and softball players. Sammarco is currently serving as an admissions counselor within the Lasell admissions department.

Sammarco received All Conference second team honors his senior year at Lasell, leading the team in batting average (.337), on-base percentage (.416) and hits (33).

During Lasell’s 2023 campaign Sammarco took over as Lasell’s hitting coach and led the offense to an historic season. During the ’23 season Lasell broke 6 offensive school records including most at-bats (1253), most runs (276), most hits (385), most RBI’s (236), most total bases (544), and most sac flies (23).
