BB: Lasers Split With Chargers

New London, NH- The Lasell University baseball team traveled to Colby-Sawyer on Monday and lost the first game 3-1, and won the second 11-4.
Game 1-
At the plate, the Lasers managed only six hits and one run across 26 at-bats, with no extra-base damage outside of Jonah Nielsen's triple. Calvin Sanft led the way with a solid 2-for-3 performance, while Nielsen, Tim Callahan, Braelen Silva, and Bobby Long each chipped in a hit. No RBIs, five runners left on base, and limited pressure on the Chargers pitcher caused was the downfall for Lasell.
On the mound, Luke Descheneaux took the loss but gave a competitive outing, going 4.2 innings and allowing three runs on five hits. He worked around some trouble but issued three walks, which helped extend innings. Lucas Stogner was effective in relief, tossing 1.1 scoreless innings and allowing just one hit while keeping the game within reach.
Game 2-
At the plate, the lineup was relentless, piling up 15 hits and 11 runs. Callahan led the charge with a perfect game, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored, two RBIs, and three walks, consistently setting the tone at the top. Declan Silva delivered in big moments, driving in three runs and adding a pair of sacrifice flies, while Nick Nigro stayed hot with two doubles and two runs scored.
Production came from everywhere in the order. Jeremy Angeles knocked in a run, Braelen Silva added an RBI double, and Connor Freitas and Nicholas Groussis each contributed run-scoring hits. On the bases, the Lasers were aggressive and disruptive, swiping multiple bags, highlighted by Callahan's four steals and Nielsen's two, putting constant pressure on the defense.
On the mound, it was a true staff effort. Freitas earned the win, allowing just two runs over 2.2 innings. Jeremy Wacker was dominant in relief, tossing 3.1 scoreless innings and shutting down any momentum from the opposition. Joshua Cavas and Tommy Flanagan closed things out effectively, limiting damage and securing the win.
