BSB: Tim Callahan Named GNAC Baseball Player of the Year; Matthew Fletcher, Connor Freitas Earn All-Conference Honors
Newton, MA – Lasell University Baseball is celebrating an outstanding 2025 season, with senior Tim Callahan earning the prestigious GNAC Player of the Year award. Along with Callahan's recognition, Matthew Fletcher was named Second Team All-Conference, and Connor Freitas earned Third Team All-Conference honors for their exceptional performances this season.
Tim Callahan, a senior infielder from Attleboro, Massachusetts, capped off an incredible campaign at the plate, finishing with a .425 batting average, .497 on-base percentage, and .550 slugging percentage. He led the team with 68 hits and 18 doubles, and also contributed 33 RBIs and 45 runs scored, ranking fourth in the GNAC in both categories. Callahan displayed incredible consistency, recording 25 stolen bases and finishing with 19 walks and 15 strikeouts in 41 games. His ability to excel across multiple offensive categories made him one of the top hitters in the league, while his leadership helped propel Lasell's offense all season. Callahan's all-around performance solidified his place as the GNAC Player of the Year.
Matthew Fletcher, a senior pitcher, was named Second Team All-GNAC after posting an impressive season on the mound. Fletcher made 12 appearances, with 9 starts, and compiled a 6-3 record. In 60.0 innings pitched, he struck out 79 batters, posting an impressive 11.85 K/9 rate. Fletcher's ERA was a stellar 3.15, and he held opposing batters to just a 1.13 WHIP. His dominance on the mound and ability to control the game were key factors in Lasell's success this season, and his recognition reflects his outstanding contributions.
Connor Freitas, another senior, earned Third Team All-GNAC honors for his contributions both offensively and defensively. Freitas, who also contributed as a pitcher, played in 41 games and finished the season with a .327 batting average, .410 on-base percentage, and .395 slugging percentage. He totaled 48 hits, 4 doubles, and 38 RBIs. His presence at the plate was complemented by strong defense and versatility, making him a key component of Lasell's lineup. Freitas's all-around performance earned him a well-deserved place on the All-Conference Third Team.
Rounding out the Lasell selections is senior pitcher Brendan Zaleski who was named to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship team.
