Sherron Dominates First Week Debut; Tabbed GNAC Rookie of the Week

FORT MYERS, Fla. (3/21/16) – Freshman Brett Sherron (Howard Beach, N.Y.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) baseball rookie of the week as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

Sherron made an impeccable statement in his first full week as a Laser, averaging .500 (14-28) in eight games played at the Gene Cuisic Classic. Sherron crossed the plate six times for Lasell with an additional five doubles and nine RBI's. The rookie first baseman defensively recorded 32 putouts and yielded zero errors.

Sherron ranks third overall among GNAC stat leaders with a .455 batting average so far, as senior Wes Hurty (Windsor, Conn.) takes the top spot at .500.
