Suffolk Shuts Out Baseball 11-0
WALTHAM, Mass. (4/8/15)- The Rams of Suffolk University defeated the Lasell College Lasers 11-0 in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest Wednesday evening at Brandeis University. Game two of the originally scheduled GNAC doubleheader will be made up on Tuesday, April 14 at 6:00 p.m.

Game two of the originally scheduled GNAC doubleheader will be made up on Tuesday, April 14 at Brandeis Univesrity at 6:00 p.m.
With the loss, Lasell drops to 5-12 on the year and 1-4 in the conference, while Suffolk improves to 7-10 overall and remains undefeated in the GNAC 3-0.
The Lasers saw hits from junior Skylar Beckerman (Pensacola, Fla.) who went 2-for-4 on the day, while junior Tyler Flaherty (Portland, Maine), seniors Dan Mickens (Montclair, N.J.), and Matt Sammarco (New Canaan, Conn.) each swung into a single in the losing effort.
Sophomore Sean Cameron (Milford, Conn.) paced the Rams going 2-for-4 with a double and five RBI's. Senior JC Collette (Amesbury, Mass.) roped a double and a single RBI, while sophomore Matt Brenner (Eliot, Me.), juniors Drew Carter (Newburyport, Mass.) and Jon Lapolla (Providence, R.I.), and freshman Brady Chant (Warwick, R.I.),contributed with runs batted in for the hosts.
Batting second in the top of the first, Sammarco singled and worked his way to third via a stolen base and an error on Suffolk's catcher. In an attempt to steal, Sammarco bolted for home, but was ripped of the chance from the Rams' defense.
Suffolk put up two runs in the bottom of the second, courtesy of RBI's from Carter and Cameron. Carter singled to score a run and juice the bases, while Cameron reached on a fielder's choice to score Matt Brenner from third base.
The Rams held onto the lead for the remainder of the game, packing in four runs in the third and three runs in the sixth.
Senior pitcher Kevin Post (Cromwell, Conn.) suffered the loss for the Lasers (0-3) allowing six runs, four hits, and four walks. Senior Josh Desai (Shrewsbury, Mass.) grabbed the win on the mound for the Rams (3-2), scattering three hits and four walks on five innings pitched.
The Lasers are scheduled for a GNAC doubleheader at Brandeis University vs. Norwich with first-pitch slated for 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11. The Rams also jump into conference twin bill action on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. as they head to Franklin Pierce University to face Rivier.
