Heather Rose, a four year athlete on the softball team at Lasell College is in this weeks Athlete Spotlight. As a senior captain on the womens softball team, Rose has made quite an impression on the program during her time as a Laser.
Heather Rose, a four year athlete on the softball team at Lasell College is in this week's Athlete Spotlight. As a senior captain on the women's softball team, Rose has made quite an impression on the program during her time here.
This year alone, Rose has twenty hits, including two doubles, two triples and two homeruns. She has brought in 12 RBI's and added 23 runs of her own. In the field, Rose has made 50 put outs and added 62 assists, and currently boasts a .926 fielding %.
Over the course of her career as a Laser, Rose has played 147 games in the Blue & White and started in 128 of those contests. She has been to bat 414 times, with 142 hits, for a .343 career batting average. Of those hits, 19 have been doubles, nine triples, and four home runs have been knocked over the fences.
As the Lasers short stop, Rose has made 257 career putouts, and 276 career assists, with a .932 career fielding percentage. Rose also has an incredible stolen bases percentage having reached on 53 of 56 total attempts. In her four year career at Lasell, Rose has batted in 75 runs, and also produced 132 runs of her own.
A native of West Roxbury, Massachusetts, Rose came to Lasell from Mount Saint Joseph's Academy. Rose will graduate in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Science.
