Why did you choose Lasell College?
There are very few fashion schools offering both a good Fashion Design program and athletics. Both were high priority to me and Lasell was a perfect match. Also the location: being close to the city and in a beautiful town.
What’s your favorite memory as an athlete at Lasell?
My first year at Lasell, the whole thing is a very fond memory because it's when I made all of my closest friends through field hockey, it made me who I am today as a Lasell athlete. Also getting the Rookie of the Year award from my conference freshmen year made me feel on top of the world.
Do you have any superstitions before you go into a game?
I eat an orange before every game. Someone told me once that oranges are 'instant energy', and whether or not thats completely true, it is in my head, and I'm convinced that it energizes me.
What do you do in your free time away from athletics?
Obviously my classes and homework. I also have a job, so I work a few days a week. I spend a lot of time with my suite-mates, whether we're going out in Boston or just watching movies.
Do you plan on continuing to play or to coach after you finish your career at Lasell?
I know I'll for sure play after I graduate, there are a lot of good club teams in the area and I'm not going to be anywhere near ready to stop playing. As far as coaching, we'll see. I've coached elementary level players in the past for my town, but have never thought of pursuing it.
Who has been a great influence in your life?
My Dad. He's been an athlete for as long as I remember and passed his competitive gene on to me. I hope I'm the athlete he is now when I'm his age. I also admire his independence and compassion.
What is a little known fact about you?
I eat all day long, nonstop. I'm quite the snacker.
Where do you hope to be after graduation? I'm planning on working in the fashion design industry, hopefully in the field of accessory design. Definitely in Boston.
