Julian Dutton, a senior goalkeeper on the mens soccer team is in this weeks Athlete Spotlight. A native of Madison, Connecticut, Dutton has played for the Lasers for the past three seasons and is competing in 2009 during his final year of eligibility. Over the course of four years, Dutton has made quite a mark on the mens soccer program. He holds four All-Time records at the college, including goals against average, save percentage, total saves, and total games played.

Julian Dutton, a senior goalkeeper on the men's soccer team is in this week's Athlete Spotlight.
A native of Madison, Connecticut, Dutton has played for the Lasers for the past three seasons and is competing during his final year of eligibility in 2009. Over the course of four years, Dutton has made quite a mark on the men's soccer program. He holds four All-Time records at the college, including goals against average, save percentage, total saves, and total games played.
As a first year in 2006, Dutton saw time in 13 contests, marking a 8-2 overall record, including four total shutouts. During those 13 games, Dutton collected 96 saves in net and recorded a GAA of .82 and a .90 save percentage.
The following year as a sophomore, Dutton was selected to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference All-Tournament team, helping the team to a conference semi-final appearance. Throughout the course of the year, Dutton saved 115 shots in 17 games, and produced one shutout performance.
In 2008, with two years experience already under his belt, Dutton finished the year with a 10-6 record, including five shutouts. He made 98 saves in the season, finishing the year ranked 72nd overall in the NCAA DIII statistics rankings. He also found a spot at no. 33 overall in the NCAA in save percentage (.845), good also for second in the GNAC.
During the early parts of the 2009 season, Dutton has made an impact once again for Lasell. The senior was selected Goalkeeper of the Week in the conference last week after picking up 20 total saves in a 3-0-1 week for the Lasers. Dutton is at the top of the league in saves per game, averaging 7.0 per match, and is second in save percentage, which stands at 84.8%. Dutton is also ranked 4th in goals against average and 6th in total season saves.
