Bio
Julia Knights will begin her first season as the Lasell College assistant women’s basketball coach during the 2010-2011 season. Knights comes to Lasell after a one year stint as assistant women’s basketball coach at Wentworth Institute of Technology, where she aided in coordinating all aspects of the program. Prior to Wentworth, Knights spent one season as an assistant at her Alma Mater, Maine Maritime Academy.
Knights completed her Bachelors of Science in International Business and Logistics at Maine Maritime in 2006, and her Master of Science in international Business from the Loeb Sullivan School at Maine Maritime, in 2009. During her career as a Mariner, Knights was a two-year captain of the women’s basketball team which became a nationally ranked program (no.15) for the first time in school history during her final season. She earned Rookie of the Year and Co-Player of the Year honors in 2003, as well as All-Conference honors in 2006 and 2007. Knights left Maine Maritime as the institutions career leading rebounder (1,003), leading shot blocker (169), and second leading scorer (1,570).
Coach Knights lives in Medford, Massachusetts and is employed as an Executive Team Leader specializing in assets protection for Target Corporation.
