Bio

Laanna Carrasco graduated from Rutgers University, in 2001, with a degree in History and Women's Studies.  She holds an MA from the University of Colorado in journalism and is currently working as a freelance writer and editor. Coach Carrasco was motivated to become a journalist due to her interest in improving and expanding women's sports writing and media. She specialized in the sports and fitness writing genres and has published features about female horseback riders, soccer players, and target shooters to name a few.

Carrasco was an all-state Forward at Princeton High School where she scored over 1000 career points. She comes from a legacy of college coaches; her grandfather, David Carrasco, served as head men's basketball coach at American University in the 1960's and her great grandfather, Richard Harlow, coached football at Harvard University in the 1930's and 1940's.
