Lasers Get First Win at Home 69-42
Newton, MA. - The Lasell College women's basketball team defeated Wheelock College 69-42 on Saturday in non-conference play. It was a great game for the Lasers who dictated the pace most of the game.
Newton, MA. - The Lasell College women's basketball team defeated Wheelock College 69-42 on Saturday in non-conference play. It was a great game for the Lasers who dictated the pace most of the game.
The first half of the game was back and forth and the score stayed relatively close. At the end of the first half, Lasell led by a score of 32-23. Lasell pulled away in the second half of the game as the Wildcats simply could not stop Lasell's offense. Lasell went on to a 69-42 victory over the visiting Wildcats.
The Lasers offense was led by junior, Katie Farr (Rindge, NH) who put up 17 total points, shooting 60% from the 3-point range. Freshman Kim Archibald (Lewiston, ME) also contributed immensely putting up 13 points and grabbing 15 rebounds for a double-double.
Wheelock was led by junior guard, Joy Holiday (Milford, MA) with 12 points, shooting 66% from the 3-point range. Freshman Reegan Brackett (Scarborough, ME) and senior Tricia Culver (Northampton, MA) added to Lasell's score with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Wheelock's Sara Brown (Plainville, CT) had a good defensive game with six rebounds and two blocks.
Lasell moves to 1-5 overall and will face Lesley University at 6 pm on Tuesday, December 8th at home. Wheelock College falls to 0-4 overall.
