Donis Leads Lasers at St. Joseph's Maine

Standish ME- Senior Raymon Donis (Raynham, MA) finished in the top 20 at the Running Monks Invitational, coming in 19th place to lead Lasell College men's cross country team at St. Joseph's College of Maine on Saturday afternoon. Lasell finished in 6th place (165 points) overall as a team while the host Monks finished 5th with 138 total points. Earning the number one spot with only 29 points was fellow Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contender Johnson and Wales University.
Lyndon State finished in second place falling behind Johnson and Wales by just four points, finishing with 33 points as a team.
The individual winner on the day was Lyndon State's Josh Grant (Nashua, New Hampshire), a junior who finished less than a minute in front of the remainder of the competition. Grant's ending time was 27:11.98 while Jeff Hartman of the Johnson and Wales University squad finished shortly after with a time of 27:50.84.
Donis' nineteenth place finish was recorded in 31 minutes and 19.40 seconds while his teammate, Connor Devlin's (Wellesley, MA) 33rd place finish was recorded at 33 minutes and 10.95 seconds.
JB Leger (Waltham, MA) finished third for Lasell, and 38th overall, with time of 33:56.55 on the 8K course. Junior Isaac Montoya (El Paso, TX) finished shortly behind Leger, coming in 43rd place overall with a time of 34:34:44.
Freshman Kyle Northrop (Bellingham, MA) and Senior Michael Isherwood (Warwick, RI) came in 50th and 53rd place individually. Northrop finished with a time of 35:21:57 while Isherwood came in just over a minute later recording a time of 36:25:72.
Finishing up the scoring on the day for Lasell was David To recording a time of 44 minutes and 06:08 seconds.
Lasell's four senior athletes will be honored next weekend on Saturday, October 15th during Family, Friends, and Alumni Weekend at Lasell College. The ceremony will commence at the halftime of the women's soccer game on Taylor Field, with an estimated start time of 12:45 p.m. Donis, Isherwood, Leger and Grant Vantine (Fitchburg, MA) are the Lasers four seniors that will be recognized.
Following senior day, the Lasers will compete next on October 29th at the GNAC Championship, hosted by Emmanuel College at Franklin Park.
