Castleton Knocks Field Hockey out of NAC Tournament in Quarter Finals
CASTLETON, VT- On Sunday afternoon, the Castleton Spartans knocked Lasell College out of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Tournament with a 4-0 win in the quarter finals. The Lasers conclude their year at 3-15 while the Spartans move onto the semifinals with a 12-7 overall slate.

NAC Field Hockey Championship Seeding Announced
Castleton State College has secured the top seed in the upcoming North Atlantic Conference Field Hockey Championship. The Spartans (11-7 overall, 9-0 NAC) will take on eighth-seeded Lasell College (3-13 overall, 1-8 NAC) in a quarterfinal game on Sunday.

NEWTON, MA- In the final regular season field hockey contest of the 2011 season for the Lasell College Lasers, Fitchburg State University blanked Lasell, 5-0, in non-conference action on Grellier Field. The win leveled out Fitchburg’s record at 8-8 overall while Lasell tumbles to 3-14.

Lasers Level Out at 1-1 in NAC Play after 4-1 Triumph over Rivier
NASHUA, NH- Freshman forward Lauren Rice (Belfast, ME) recorded the game-winning goal in the 20th minute of North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play against Rivier College on Tuesday night as the Lasers field hockey team earned their first conference win of the season with the 4-1 triumph over the Raiders. The victory improved Lasell to a 2-4 record overall, and evened them out at 1-1 in the NAC. Rivier is also 2-4 this season, but has yet to earn a win in league action, falling to 0-2.

Thornton Sets Program Record Notching 28 Saves against Drew
NEWTON, MA- Christine Thornton (Canton, MA) recorded an outstanding 28 saves between the pipes for Lasell College today in non-conference field hockey action against Drew University which fell in the visitors favor, 6-1, despite Thornton’s record setting performance. The Lasers senior goalkeeper broke her own previous institution single-game record of 23 saves in Sunday’s contest on Grellier Field as Lasell lands at 0-3 this season. Drew’s overall record evens out at 2-2 with the win.

Husson Selected to Top the NAC in Field Hockey
Husson University has been selected to win its third-straight NAC Championship in a poll of the league's coaches. The Eagles, one of four teams to receive at least one first-place vote, garnered five and earned a total of 94 points to top the poll. 2010 NAC Rookie of the Year, Sabrina Vaillancourt, returns for her sophomore season after tallying six goals as a freshman. The Eagles also return senior midfielder Lorri Hiltz, a member of the 2010 All-Conference Second Team.
