Tom Olson

Tom Olson is now in his ninth year as head men's volleyball coach at Lasell in 2018-19. He has been a part of the Lasell men’s volleyball coaching staff since 2009, serving for two years as associate head coach before taking over as head coach in 2011. He has over 20 years of coaching experience at the high school, club, and collegiate levels.

While at the helm of the Lasers, Olson has accumulated an impressive 143-106 record, including a 67-45 mark in the Great Northeaster Athletic Conference (GNAC). He led the team to the GNAC championship in 2015 and runner-up finishes in 2011 and 2017. The Lasers finished with a 29-6 mark in 2017, setting the program record for victories in a season and finishing the season ranked #12 in the nation.

Olson was at the helm of the Johnson & Wales University men's volleyball program for three years (2006-2008), leading the Wildcats to a post-season appearance in the NECVA Tournament in his first season. He amassed a record of 35-39 in three seasons at Johnson & Wales.

Olson's coaching resume also includes stints at Emerson College, CMASS Junior Volleyball, South Shore Sharks Junior Volleyball, Bellingham High School, and Medway High School. Olson is also an active player in New England and competes in both indoor and outdoor volleyball tournaments at the open level and has competed in the USAV National Volleyball Championships for the past 10 years at the B, BB and A level.
