Bio
Patrick Petty joins the Lasell College men’s cross country team as an assistant coach for the Fall 2011 season.
Petty is a graduate of Union College having earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology in June of 2011. He brings a wealth of experience as a four year varsity runner on the cross country and the track & field team at Union, serving one year as the team captain.
In addition to coaching, Petty is the co-founder of the Building Up Ghana Project, which began in 2009 as a grassroots student organization. With this organization, Petty led the effort to raise $20,000 and collected over 3,000 books to build a library, a music & art center, and a drinking water system for the Faith Hour Redemption Academy in Accra, Ghana. In 2011, he received the Union College Athletics Award for Leadership, Service and Outreach, presented for outstanding performance in community service, for his efforts.
