Drapeau Picks Up GNAC All-Conference Award
NEWTON, MA- Danielle Drapeau, a junior middle hitter from Biddeford, Maine, was selected as a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball All-Conference Second Team.
Drapeau has played and started in all 30 matches and in all 111 sets for the Lasers during the 2010 season. The junior middle led the Lasers in kills and hitting percentage and finished second in blocks and aces over the course of the year. After the final match of the year, Drapeau had accumulated a season total of 311 kills, averaging 2.80 per set, a .244 hitting percentage, 28 aces, 102 digs, and 89 total blocks (54 individual, 35 assisted). Drapeau is ranked 4th in the GNAC in total kills and kills per set.
Over the course of the season, Drapeau was solid all around with season-best performances of 18 kills against Lesley University (10/25/2010), a .524 clip against Skidmore College (10/09/2010), 12 digs against Emerson (10/16/2010), and eight blocks against Pine Manor (09/18/2010). She set a new individual game record for attack percentage in a game in the Skidmore College match. She led the team in kills in 20-of-30 total matches and reach double-figures in kills on 19 occasions.
During her three-year career with the Lasers, Drapeau has participated in 92 matches and 320 sets and has accrued a grand total of 12 kills, 34 assists, 83 service aces, 355 digs, and 213 blocks (137 solo, 76 assisted). This is the first time Drapeau has been honored by the league with a post-season award.
