Vito La Francesca took over the helm of the women’s soccer program in the Fall of 2007.  He has accumulated an overall record of 60-28-8, including back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances, and consecutive Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championships during the 2010 and 2011 campaigns. His team has qualified for the GNAC tournament every season, and also appeared in the ECAC Northeast Regional tournament in 2009. In his tenure he has seen 20 of his players be named to GNAC All-conference teams and LaFrancesca was named the GNAC Coach of the Year in 2007.

La Francesca was the assistant coach at Babson College in 2006 before his tenure at Lasell. Prior to moving to the collegiate level at Babson, he had very successful stints as the head coach at  Beaver Country Day (2004-2006) and Watertown High School (1999-2002). He has been coaching women's soccer in various capacities since 1997 and holds several advanced coaching degrees.

La Francesca earned his Associates Degree in Engineering Technology from the Wentworth Institute of Technology, in 1997, and his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wentworth, in 1999. He is currently working at Harvard Medical School in the Engineering and Construction division and resides in Reading, Massachusetts with his wife and three children.
