NEWTON, Mass. (10/30/17) -- For the second time this season, junior Carly Zdanek (Newton, N.J.) has earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's soccer player of the week honors, as announced by the league office on Monday morning.
Zdanek contributed two goals in the Lasers' 3-1 GNAC Quarterfinal victory Saturday afternoon. Lasell avenged their only conference regular season loss to Suffolk, knocking off the Rams enroute to the its eighth straight GNAC Semifinal. Both of Zdanek's goals came within a span five minutes, and each coming unassisted.
With 33 points, including 15 goals, Zdanek leads the Lasers in points. Zdanek sits tied for fourth in the conference for goals, including six game winners.
Zdanek and the Lasers return to action on Tuesday October 31, as they host the Monks of Saint Joseph's College of Maine in the GNAC Semifinals. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m., and can be viewed live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/lasell.
