Lasers Repeat as GNAC Champions and are NCAA Tournament Bound
NEWTON, MA— The Lasell College women’s soccer team is the 2011 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament Champion after a 2-1 defeat of Suffolk University on Saturday afternoon at Taylor Field. Jessica Taylor (Standish, ME) scored the game-winning goal at 59:36 to give Lasell their second consecutive title at the conclusion of the 17th annual GNAC Championship Tournament, as well as the automatic qualifier into the NCAA Tournament.

Lasers Eliminate Blue Jays and Move on to GNAC Tournament Championship
NEWTON, MA-- For the second consecutive season, the Lasell College women’s soccer team will host the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship on Taylor Field. The first seeded Lasers secured their trip to the finals with a 4-0 shutout over fifth seed Saint Joseph College of Connecticut on Wednesday afternoon. The Lasers improve to 15-4-1 this season while the Blue Jays finish off the year with a 12-6-2 record.

Lasers Advance to GNAC Semifinals after 5-1 Defeat of Monks
NEWTON, MA-- In the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women’s soccer quarter final match between Lasell College and St. Joseph’s College of Maine, the Lasers retaliated an earlier season loss by trouncing the Monks, 5-1, in the tournament contest. The eighth seeded Monks were bounced from the playoffs, finishing the season with a 7-5-5 overall record while the reigning GNAC Champion, and first seed in the tournament, advances to the semifinals with a 14-4-1 record to date.

PROVIDENCE, RI- Five Lasell College women’s soccer players notched goals en route to a 5-1 victory over Rhode Island College on Wednesday night. The non-conference matchup left Lasell at 12-4-1 at the conclusion of their 2011 regular season while Rhode Island lands at 2-15.

The reigning 2010 GNAC Champion, Lasell College has secured a first place seeding in the 2011 GNAC tournament after achieving a conference record of 11-2 and an overall record of 12-4-1. Reigning GNAC Champions “Play 4 the Cure”
NEWTON, MA - On October 15th, 2011, the Lasell College women’s soccer team will be hosting their second annual “Play 4 the Cure” event. In honor of Maria La Francesca, the mother of head coach Vito La Francesca, the team will be holding a benefit game to raise money and increase breast cancer awareness. All proceeds will be donated to the Massachusetts General Hospital’s Gillette Center for Breast Cancer.

NEWTON, MA- The Lasell College women’s soccer team extended their unbeaten Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) streak to a perfect 10-0 record today with a 3-0 shutout of Saint Joseph College of Connecticut on Columbus Day at Taylor Field. The Lasers are on an eleven game winning streak, including four consecutive shutouts, and hold an 11-2 overall record. The Blue Jays settle at 8-4 so far this season with a 6-3 GNAC slate.

PAXTON, MA- A dozen Lasell College Lasers scored points in Saturday’s 14-0 women’s soccer defeat of the newest member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), Anna Maria College. Lasers Knock Off Brandeis in Double Overtime
NEWTON, MA- Sophomore forward Jamie Harris (Lynnfield, MA) scored the golden goal in Lasell College’s 2-1 double-overtime win against Brandeis University in dramatic fashion today on Taylor Field. Harris beat her defender and lobbed a high ball over the top of Brandeis’ goalie after 105:55 minutes of women’s soccer to move Lasell to 5-2 this season, while dropping the Judges to 3-5.

NEWTON, MA- Jamie Harris (Lynnfield, MA) tallied the game-winning goal of Saturday’s 3-1 Lasell College women’s soccer victory over Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opposition Norwich University. Lasell scored three times in the contest before Norwich even got on the board which carried the hosts to remain undefeated in conference play at 3-0, and improve to 3-2 overall. Lasers Trump Lions in 2011 GNAC Debut
NEWTON, MA- Jessica Taylor (Standish, ME) scored a hat trick as the Lasell College women’s soccer team trumped Emerson College, 5-0, on the first day of Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) competition for the 2011 season. The win marks the first of the season for the Lasers who bump their overall record to 1-2 and conference slate to 1-0. The Lions are without a win yet in the early part of the season, falling to 0-3 and 0-1 in GNAC play.

SPRINGFIELD, MA- A goal scored in the 81st minute lead Vassar College women’s soccer to the consolation round victory over Lasell College, 2-1, in the Springfield Invitational at Irv Schmid Sports Complex on Sunday. After the tournament contest, the Lasers dropped to an 0-2 record this season and Vassar improved to 1-1.

2011 Women's Soccer Preview
It was a banner season for the Lasell College women’s soccer team who became the first women’s program at Lasell to earn a bid to the NCAA Tournament. Scoring a program best record of 14-4-3, including an 8-2-2 slate in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), the Lasers went undefeated through the GNAC Tournament to become the conference champions of 2010.
