Carla Flaherty was named the Head Women's Basketball Coach at Lasell College, taking over the program in 2010 following a six year stretch at Bates College.

At Bates she served as the assistant women’s basketball coach as well as co-head women’s soccer coach. During her tenure with the women’s basketball program, Flaherty helped the Bobcats to a 104-53 record and two NCAA tournament appearances. At Bates she coached seven all-conference players including three NESCAC players of the year.

Flaherty graduated from Bates College in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric, and she completed her Master's in Organizational Leadership at Southern New Hampshire in 2010.

The Gorham, Maine native played four seasons with the Bobcats women’s basketball and softball teams, serving as both teams’ captain her senior year. She earned two first team all-conference awards from the NESCAC, first team All-New England honors, and finished her career fifth on Bates’ all-time scoring list with 1,143 points.

In addition to her coaching duties, Flaherty will be responsible for Student Athlete Academic Well-Being, the CHAMPS Program, Student Athlete Mentor Program, game management, as well as other administrative duties within the Athletic Department.
