Rich Paulhus is now in his fifth season as head softball coach at Lasell in 2018-19. Paulhus came to Lasell after spending 15 years at Framingham State University, including 12 years as head coach where he set the program's all-time wins mark at 194. His teams qualified for the postseason eight times, competing in four conference championship games with one title and NCAA regional appearance in 2007.
Paulhus led the Lasers to their first GNAC post-season berth in seven years in 2018, posting 10 conference victories, the most since 2011. Paulhus picked up his 200th career victory on April 11th, 2015 as the Lasers defeated Rivier University by a score of 4-2.
Coach Paulhus' Framingham State teams had eight consecutive winning seasons in the conference, and posted 20-win seasons in 2006, 2007, and 2014. During his time at the helm of FSU's softball program, Paulhus had 30 players voted to the All-MASCAC teams, including three conference Rookie of the Year accolades.
Prior to and during his coaching at FSU, coach Paulhus was a part of the Mass Pressure Softball Junior Olympic travel program. The program placed youth student-athletes into college programs, where they finished twice in the top 10 at the FAST Nationals in Orlando, Fla. and appeared in one top 10 at the PONY nationals in Virginia.
Paulhus currently resides in Whitinsville with wife Lisa and children Shane and Lexie.
