Parker Repeats as Men's Volleyball Rookie of the Week

NEWTON, MA-- Spencer Parker has been chosen as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

The freshman outside hitter from Newington, Connecticut had a huge week at the net, during a 2-1 week for Lasell.  Parker averaged 4.13 kills, 2.25 digs, and .5 blocks per set over the course of the week.  He began the week with nine kills, five digs, and two aces in two sets against Lesley University, then moved on to a five kill, four dig performance in two sets against Johnson & Wales University.   The 6'5" rookie then finished the week with an impressive performance at Endicott College, leading all attackers with 19 kills, while hitting a .361 clip.  Parker also picked up nine digs, two blocks, and two service aces at Endicott.

Parker is currently leading the Lasers in kills and kills per set, with 115 total kills this season, and a 3.71 kills per set average.  His kills per set average is also good enough to have him ranked 28th nationally in the NCAA for Division III men's volleyball.
