Aaron Galletta begins his sixth year at Lasell College, and his fourth season as the Head Men's Basketball Coach. During his first three seasons, Coach Galletta helped guide the Lasers to a 55-31 record, as well as a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship title, as well as appearances in both the ECAC regional and NCAA national tournaments. During his tenure, Galletta has coached four All-Conference players, two Player of the Year honorees, and one Josten's Trophy Finalist & D3Hoops All-American Honorable Mention.
Coach Galletta brings to the Lasell program a wealth of
basketball knowledge garnered as a player and a coach. He graduated
from Union College as the all-time leading scorer in 2002, with
1,949 career points. During his senior year, he led the
Dutchmen to the second round of the NCAA tournament. He was named
ECAC Upstate NY Player of the Year, NABC All-American Second Team,
and was also a D3Hoops Third Team All-American selection. Coach
Galletta was also one of ten national finalists for the Jostens
Trophy, given to the top Division III male basketball players.
Before coming to Lasell, Coach Galletta spent a year as an
assistant at Mount St. Mary College, where he helped the team to a
23-8 record, and an ECAC berth.
Bruce Reese enters his fourth season as assistant
coach with the Lasell College men's basketball team.
Coach Reese joined the Lasers' staff after receiving his
Masters degree in Psychology, from Boston University, in May 2006.
Coach Reese is a 2002 graduate of Tufts University where he was a
four year lettermen and co-captain his senior year. While at Tufts,
he was a member of the 2000 ECAC Championship team. Along with his
duties as an assistant coach, Coach Reese is also an professor of
sociology at Lasell, as well as an adjunct professor at the
University of Massachusetts, Boston and Massachusetts College of
Pharmacy, specializing in the study of Altruism.
Dave Hoffman begins his first season as an assistant men's basketball coach with Lasell College. A 2004 graduate of Union College (NY), Coach Hoffman was a member of the 2002 NCAA Tournament and Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association (UCAA) championship teams.
After graduating from Union, Hoffman worked at Northeastern University's Center for the Study of Sport in Society, providing life-skill training to professional, collegiate and high school athletes across the country for four years. In addition, he served as the head coach of the Bay State Jaguars from 2006-09, winning the 2009 Massachusetts State Championship. Hoffman currently works for Metro Lacrosse, a Boston-based non-profit organization as a Program Manager.
He received his Master's Degree in Sports Leadership from
Northeastern University in 2009.
Dwayne Powell begins his first season as an assistant coach with the Lasers' men's basketball team. A recent graduate of Lasell College in May of 2009 with a degree in Sports Management, Coach Powell is now pursuing his Masters degree from his alma mater in the same field.
Having played three successful seasons with the Lasers, Coach
Powell holds numerous individual and career records at Lasell,
including finishing his career as the all-time leader in
assists. In addition, his coaching background includes
working with an AAU basketball team in Florida and at multiple
camps.
