Pratt and Gorski Earn NAC All-Conference First Team Honors
NEWTON, MA- Senior midfielder Tia Pratt (Oxford Hills, ME) and senior defender Amanda Gorski (Wethersfield, CT) earmed North Atlantic Conference Field Hockey First Team All-Conference honors for the 2010 season.
Pratt is finishing up an impressive four year career with the Lasell College field hockey team as a four-time NAC All-Conference honoree. She was selected as the Rookie of the Year and a second team member in 2007, a second team member again in 2008, and a first team honoree in 2009 and 2010. Over the course of her career, Pratt has accrued 79 total points having scored 28 goals and added 23 assists.
This season, Pratt finished first on the team in goals, assists, and total points. She tallied 12 goals, handed out seven assists and combined for 31 points. She scored one hat trick against Rivier College in NAC play, and finished the game with four total goals for a season-high. Pratt scored goals for the Lasers in nine contests and dished out assists in four contests. She started in 15 and played in 18 contests over the 2010 season.
As a first year student-athlete in 2007, Pratt started in all 19 games, scoring four goals and adding six assists for 14 total points. She finished her first year ranked 6th in the NAC in total assists and 8th in assists per game. As a sophomore, Pratt led the Lasers in assists with five and finished the season with 13 total points, scoring four goals. Pratt ranked 10th in the NAC in assists per game, averaging .30 per game. Last season, Pratt finished second on the team with 21 points, having scored eight goals and contributed with five assists. She was ranked in the NAC in three categories: 8th in assists (5), 8th in points (21), and 9th in goals (8). She scored one game-winning goal, in league play, against Simmons College (10/14/2009).
Over four years, Pratt has started and played in 74 contests with the Lasers.
Gorski is also concluding an outstanding four year career with the Lasers as one of the top defenders in the league. Gorski is ranked in a tie for second in the conference in defensive saves for the season, having recorded four team saves during the 2010 campaign. The senior full back anchored the Lasers defense in 17 contests this year, having started in 15 of those events.
In addition, Gorski score two goals this season for four points. Both of her goals were scored in NAC play against Rivier College on the Lasers Senior Day.
Over the course of her career, Gorski has played in 49 contests in the Blue & White and has contributed three goals, six points, and five defensive saves. This is the first time Gorski has been recognized with conference honors.
The Lasers Field Hockey team concluded the 2010 season with an 8-10 overall record.
