Athletic Director Kristy Walter is pleased to announce that Lasell College will begin sponsoring Outdoor Track and Field for both men and women beginning in the spring of 2013. Joining Cross Country and Indoor Track and Field, Lasell will now officially have a three season track program. The addition of the two teams will increase Lasell’s sport sponsorship to a total of 17 varsity sports.

Head Cross Country and Indoor Track and Field Coach, James Martin will lead the outdoor teams. A 2003 graduate of Lasell College, Martin began working with the Lasers as an assistant coach in 2004. He then took over the cross country programs in 2010 and the indoor programs in 2011. Martin is USATF (certified Level 1) coach and his philosophy is focused on developing the athlete and the individual.

Coach Martin is excited for the inaugural season of Outdoor Track and Field and is expecting the Lasers to be competitive in a variety of events. Lasell will compete in 6 invitational meets beginning in March 2013.
