Bill Mason enters his third season with the men’s lacrosse program, coming off a historic 2017 campaign. Mason lead the Lasers to a 13-4 overall record, including 8-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play. The Lasers also secured their first ever GNAC Championship with a 13-12 victory over rival Mount Ida, and earned their first ever NCAA Tournament bid, where they fell short 9-7 to Misericordia (PA) in Salisbury, MD.
Mason was named the GNAC Coach of the Year following the 2017 season. Under his direction the Lasers saw Jorge Salazar earn GNAC Goalie of the Year, Daniel Gorman earn GNAC Rookie of the Year, as well as 10 student-athletes receiving GNAC All-Conference honors, boosting the number to 16 overall in his tenure. Mason is now 25-9 in his first two seasons.
Prior to his arrival to Lasell, Mason spent three years as an assistant coach at Bates College. At Bates, Mason served as the men's lacrosse assistant coach and defensive coordinator. Mason also coordinated all aspects of recruiting with the Bobcats, and assisted with team travel, daily practice planning, and team community service outreach.
Prior to his stint at Bates, Mason returned to his Alma Mater, Western New England University, where he served as the offensive assistant and recruiting coordinator. Mason guided the 2012 squad to an undefeated conference season, a No. 15 rank in Division III, and an NCAA Tournament bid.
